Paul Jackson

Paul is a highly experienced network, schedule and programming specialist who brings a big-picture know-how to his consultancy, workshops and speaking engagements.

Paul is currently Creative Director at Houghton Street Media in Beijing, and a freelance consultant. From 2009 to 2013 Paul was CEO, Eyeworks UK supervising their push into the UK Comedy and Entertainment format business. Until December 2008 he was ITV’s Director of Entertainment and Comedy, commissioning and overseeing shows such as “Britain’s Got Talent”, “X Factor”, “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire” and “Benidorm”.

Before that he was working as Granada’s Chief Executive Officer in America (where he executive-produced “Hells Kitchen”, “Nanny 911” and “Celebrity Fit Camp” amongst others) and previously he worked in Australia as Chief Executive Officer of Granada Productions.

He went to Australia from the BBC where he held the role of Controller of Entertainment, responsible for five entertainment and comedy departments working across television, radio and online.

In his production career, Paul produced and or directed a raft of entertainment and comedy shows for most UK Broadcasters, including “Young Ones”, “Red Dwarf”, “Saturday Live” and “Girls on Top”, “The Generation Game” and “Blankety Blank”.

In 2015 Paul once again shared his expertise with South Korea producers, as part of TFP’s Formats A-Z course for KOCCA in Seoul.
