Marc Grenier

Marc is an award-winning brand specialist and commercial film-maker, as well as a director of both feature films and television drama, documentary and comedy.

Quebec City native Marc S. Grenier quickly rose to become one of the most prolific award-winning Montreal-based commercial directors, and partner at the prominent commercial production house La Fabrique d’Images. He has won countless awards in the U.S. (Mobius, Batchi, Monitor Awards, Communication Arts Magazine Awards and Art Director Club Awards), and in Canada (marketing, TVB Awards and Publicity Club of Montreal’s Cog Awards) for prestigious accounts including McDonald’s, Burger King, Molson O’Keefe, Cirque du Soleil, Clairol and P&G.

In 1997 Marc got a taste for fiction, directing the short film Souleyad. This successful venture led him to his film-directing debut with “Fatal Affair” (1998, starring C.Thomas Howell), “Eternal Revenge” (1999, Alexandra Paul) and “Cause of Death” (2000, Patrick Bergen).

In 2000 he produced for his own company Locomotion Films, the film “Xchange”, directed by Allan Moyle, for HBO. In 2001 he completed post-production on “Dead Awake”, (starring Stephen Baldwin) which he produced and directed also with Locomotion Films. Also in 2001 he directed “Hidden Agenda” (Dolph Lundgren) and in 2003 he directed “Red Rover” (William Baldwin and Jodi Lynn O’Keefe)

From 1998 to 1999 Marc directed 6 half-hours of comedy series “Misguided Angels”, for Fox Family Channel and Telescene. Since then he produced or directed many TV projects. Locomotion has produced many award-winning documentaries and short films for the international market. In 2007 he won the Gémaux for Best comedy series for “Francois en série”, a 26 x 30’ comedy. More recently the series “Les Lavigueur, La vraie histoire” for Radio-Canada Télévision has won 9 awards including the Gémaux for Best Drama Series, the Golden Rose at Montreux and CFTPA Award in Canada. Both series were adapted in other countries as scripted formats.

As a consultant, he as worked with TV stations as a creator / director for news and public affairs shows (TQS- CTV) as well as being involved in creating and directing auto-promotion and image of several broadcasters. (CFCF, CFER, CFCM, etc).

Marc is a skilful storyteller who knows how to direct actors, especially children, with ease. He is able to create the emotion and tone that transforms a nice story into a memorable moment.
