HOW TO FORMAT YOUR PROGRAMS TO THE CHINESE MARKET

What caused the recent explosion of Format licenses in China?

  • Why and when did the Chinese producers & broadcasters embrace the transfer of expertise from the Western World?
  • What type of formats are Chinese broadcasters buying lately and what are they looking for in the near future?

Speakers include:

Fotini Paraskakis, Managing Director Asian Operations, Endemol, Hong Kong; Michael Schmidt, Creative Director, Red Arrow Entertainment Group, Germany; Vivian Yin, Chief Representative & Vice General Manager, Star China International Media, China; and Summer Zheng, Director of Formats, ZJTV China, China.

NORTHERN IRELAND SCREEN

On Monday morning Justin Scroggie is hosting a private tour of the market for first-timers for Northern Ireland Screen, the government-backed agency for film, TV and Digital content industry in Northern Ireland.

Six weeks before each MIPTV and MIPCOM, Justin goes to NIS headquarters in Belfast to meet the group, and run a whole day preparation session on the market (one of our many available client services), followed by a tour of the Palais and introduction to selected booths.

On Monday afternoon, TFP consultants Bruce Starin and Daniel Ravner will join the NI Screen group at the Majestic to give short presentations based on their wisdom and experience.  Bruce will talk about his work as a global Flying Producer, and writer of production bibles (most recently for BBC Northern Ireland drama series Six Degrees).

Daniel will talk about being a Cross Media Producer, as well as giving the group an insight into his latest crowd-sourcing format project, TV By the People.
